Colonel ROBERT A. BARTH

Col. Robert A. Barth is the Commander of the 624th Aeromedical Staging Squadron, headquartered at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. His former assignment was as the Deputy Commander of the 944th Aeromedical Staging Squadron, 944th Fighter Wing, Luke Air Force Base, Arizona. The 944th ASTS consist of 32 officers and 99 enlisted Airmen providing En-Route Patient Staging System and Critical Care Air Transport Team missions. Advises the Commander on unit morale, training, budgetary, readiness and disciplinary issues. Provides additional duties to the unit as a Resource Advisor, Authorizing Official and as an Investigating Officer when called upon for commander directed investigations.

Col. Barth began his healthcare career in 1986 as a firefighter/paramedic then obtaining his registered nurse license in 1993. Colonel Barth was commissioned on 7 June 2002 through a direct commission to the Air Force Reserves.

Col. Barth has served more than 20 years in the Air Force Reserves as a critical care, emergency, and trauma nurse, and he has served in progressive leadership positions throughout his military career. He has deployed in support of Operation Unified Response as a CCATT nurse during the 2010 Haiti earthquake humanitarian crisis. Prior to his current position, Colonel Barth was the Interim Commander of the 944th ASTS, Interim Commander and Chief Nurse of the 944th Medical Squadron.
