Thompson retires after twenty-four years
JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii -- Master Sgt. Tammy Thompson watches as the base honor guard folds a flag at a retirement ceremony held in her honor July 7, 2012, at the Courtyard of Heroes at the Headquarters, Pacific Air Forces building here. Sergeant Thompson retires from the Air Force Reserve after twenty-four years of service. She began her career as a C-5 Galaxy Crew chief in 1988. In February 1995, she cross-trained to become a structural craftsman with the 704th Civil Engineer Squadron here, the present 624th CES. After a few years stint with the 477th CES, Elmendorf, Alaska, she returned to her home with the 624th CES to serve as a First Sergeant. She supported Operation Iraqi Freedom and was chosen as PACAF’s Outstanding First Sergeant of the Year in the Reserve category. (Air Force photo by Master Sgt. Daniel Nathaniel)
