Lieutenant Colonel Shane M. Lynch

Lt. Col. Shane Lynch is the Deputy Commander of the 624th Regional Support Group, headquartered at Joint Base Pearl Harbor–Hickam, Hawaii. The 624th RSG, with units in Hawaii and Guam, delivers mission-essential capability to combatant commanders through training, combat readiness, personnel management and oversight of six geographically separated units in the Pacific area of responsibility. The Group is the largest Air Force Reserve presence in the Pacific, providing more than 650 combat-ready Airmen who specialize in throughput of passengers, cargo, patients and installation repair in the Pacific and worldwide.

Lt. Col. Lynch entered the Air Force Reserves in August 2003 as a graduate of the Academy of Military Science, McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base Tennessee, followed by his assignment to 349th Civil Engineering Squadron, 349th Mission Support Group, 349th Air Mobility Wing, Travis AFB California. There, his experience spanned a diverse mix of squadron-level assignments, which eventually culminated in his selection as unit commander in 2015. As a career civil engineer, Lt. Col. Lynch has deployed in support of NEW HORIZONS Panama, a joint force training and humanitarian aid exercise; several Department of Defense Innovative Readiness Training projects; and named operations, such as ENDURING FREEDOM, NEW DAWN and Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa.

Prior to his current position, Lt. Col. Lynch served four years on joint staff assigned to United States Indo-Pacific Command, J4 Logistics and Engineering directorate, where he provided vital exercise support for, but not limited to, KEEN EDGE and PACIFIC SENTRY filling several key staff positions such as a Battle Captain for the Joint Logistic Operation Center Engineering Cell (J4), and later assignment to the Engineering Operations Desk (J44). There he oversaw the battle rhythm, managed the joint engineer working group, developed materials, provided essential mission briefs while managing the laydown and capabilities of all engineering units in the Command’s area of responsibility.
