Capt. (Dr.) Michael Fernandez, a dentist from the 724th Aeromedical Staging Flight, Andersen AFB, Guam, gives a local anesthetic to a 7-year-old Thai girl in preparation for a tooth extraction with some assistance from a Royal Thai Air Force medical technician in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Thailand, March 4, 2010. Dr. Fernandez and approximately 500 other U.S. Air Force members participated in Cope Tiger 2010, an annual multilateral training exercise with the Royal Thai Air Force and Army and the Republic of Singapore Air Force that includes humanitarian assistance. Dr. Fernandez has had a private dental practice in Guam for 15 years and joined the Air Force Reserve so he could go on humanitarian missions. (U.S. Air Force photo/Capt. Christy Stravolo)
