Air Force Reserve doctor volunteers at science fair
Christopher, student at Iolani School, Honolulu, Hawaii, poses for a photo next to his research project at the Hawaii Association of Independent Schools (HAIS) District Science & Engineering Fair held at Ioloni School, Honolulu, Hawaii, Feb. 8, 2014. Lt. Col. Nathan Kwon (not pictured), a Critical Care Air Transport Team (CCATT) physician with the 624th Aeromedical Staging Squadron, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, served as a judge at the fair to support and encourage achievements of Hawaii's youth in science, technology, engineering, math, and medicine (STEMM), giving students the opportunity to hone their presentation skills by interacting with STEMM professionals. Christopher not only advanced to the state fair, but was one of two students selected to attend the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) in Los Angeles, Calif., in May—the world’s largest international pre-college science competition.
