Hickam reservists hold commander's call at historic Pearl Harbor gymnasium
Staff Sgt. Randall "Randy" Mamalias, left, ground safety manager with the 624th Regional Support Group gives a mandatory safety briefing to members of the 624th RSG at the unit's quarterly commander's call held at Bloch Arena, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, Dec. 7, 2013. Mamalias, a traditional reservist, is a captain with the federal fire department here on Oahu. Bloch Arena opened to servicemen in August 1941, four months before the Dec. 7, 1941 bombing of Pearl Harbor by the Japanese. Twenty years later, the singer Elvis Presley would play a benefit concert there to raise money for the Battleship Arizona Memorial. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Phyllis Keith)
