America’s strategic competitors are asymmetrically prepared to leverage talent across government, industry, and academia to meet military objectives. In the Department of Defense, legacy policies and specialty codes hamper the rapid application of its best talent against emerging threats and technologies. Achieving talent agility and fluidity in the Joint Force and beyond is a strategic imperative for U.S. national security. AI-powered platform; uncover and match DoD Talent - GigEagle

A graduated Defense Innovation Unit prototype, GigEagle is a transformational Joint Talent Intelligence Platform and cornerstone of the DoD’s Agile Talent Ecosystem, unleashing the talents of the Department’s three million employees and efficiently connecting them to critical problem sets in real time.
In the platform’s current release, any military member or DoD civilian can post short-term work opportunities, or “gigs,” and unlock an existing-but-underutilized talent pool: Our nation’s Guard and Reserve members are highly skilled across a variety of industries with the potential to make substantial contributions to DoD missions beyond their military specialty codes. In 2025, GigEagle is launching pilot programs to expand its talent base to active component servicemembers, DoD civilians, and military spouses.
