JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii -- Members of Pacific Air Forces, 15th Wing and 624th Regional Support Group leaned into Lean Six Sigma through an online curriculum, group exercises and discussions and during a Green Belt Academics course instructed by April Schroeder, 624th RSG Process Manager, on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, Aug. 4-8, 2025.
The course builds on Continuous Process Improvement tools that help members create Corrective Action Plans and conduct process mapping events for their units to maximize efficiency and resources. After completing this class, participants will be eligible to pursue Green Belt Certification, enabling them to lead Rapid Improvement Events for their own or other units.
“Ultimately, the point of any CPI event is to improve combat capability for the Air Force by reducing waste and standardizing best processes,” said Ms. Schroeder. “My personal goal for each class is to instill in each attendee the knowledge and passion for process improvement they need to use data-driven decision making and Lean Six Sigma principles and tools to help our Air Force and our Airmen adapt to and overcome any challenges to U.S. Air and Space superiority.”
The 624th RSG hosts in-person, “hybrid” CPI classes quarterly: Greenbelt Foundations (the pre-requisite course for Greenbelt Academics) will be offered in the 1st and 3rd Quarter, and Greenbelt Academics will be offered in the 2nd and 4th Quarter of the Fiscal Year. Any Airman, Guardian or Air/Space Force civilian employee not currently in upgrade training can attend with supervisor’s approval. Both courses are also available 100% on-line at any time. Personnel meeting the eligibility requirements above, who prefer to complete the courses on their own can register at: https://usaf.opusworks.com/public/index.asp.
